Succulent Green Smoothie

Getting enough greens is the name of game, folks. This means not relying on greens powders but getting fancy in the kitchen with some healthy (yet easy) green smoothie recipes that really don’t take long to make. For efficiency, I make a whole blender’s worth for 2 servings.

 

Here’s one of my favorite green smoothie recipes (use all organic if possible) – this can be used with some or all of the ingredients – throw in whatever you have in the fridge and adjust to your taste/preference!

2 stalks celery

5-8 rows of kale (de-stemmed)

2 carrots

2 inches of ginger, peeled

1 T raw apple cider vinegar (unfiltered)

1 apple, pear, or handful of berries (banana on occasion)

Beet greens, mustard greens, spinach, and/or collard greens ( I use them all!)

Cabbage – several rounds

Parsley, cilantro, basil ( herbs are great detoxifiers!)

Water or coconut water (I like to use mostly water with 2-3 TB of coconut water for a touch of natural sweetness)

A scoop of greens powder – I like Greens First because it tastes great, but there are many good ones out there.

If this will be your morning meal, add protein powder!

Blend in mixer/blender until smooth (Vitamix/Blendtec will blend it the smoothest but feel free to use even a cheapie blender – it’s just as healthy with the chunks!).
